Family Movie Night at the Library: The doors open at 6:30 pm and the movie starts at 7 pm. There will be free popcorn and bottled water. Kids must be accompanied by an adult and adults must be accompanied by a kid.

Game Day: There will be another gaming day at the library. There will be a Pirates miniatures game, a DC Superhero role-playing game, chess and Settlers of Catan board-game.

Folk Music concert: Bringing It Back is a musical group dedicated to reintroducing the memorable folk songs from the 50's & 60's. Groups like: Peter Paul & Mary, New Christy Minstrels, Kingston Trio and Bob Dylan introduced many of the songs sung by Bringing It Back.

History, Mystery and Hauntings of Southern Illinois: Bruce Cline, paranormal investigator and ghost historian will present a program. At long last, the archives of the Little Egypt Ghost Society and the Gaslight Ghoul Club have been opened. Meet with team members of the Little Egypt Ghost Society as they tell how the uncovered the secrets behind some of southern Illinois' most famous ghost stories and legends. From the Old Slavehouse, to the Rose Hotel, to the Woodlawn Sarcophagus and beyond, join the Little Egypt Ghost Society as they explore some of Illinois oldest and most interesting places! Come early, this program was so popular last year that we ran out of space in the meeting room.

Crochet Class: Learn to crochet a simple scarf. There will be a Beginner’s Crocheting Class on October 29th and November 5th, from 1 to 3PM. You must attend both sessions. Patrons are required to be BML patron in good standing, must bring a crochet hook (a hook that is size H, I or J) and a skein of yarn. Due to limited space in this class, please call 242-6322 ext. 2 to register.

Knitting Class: Learn to knit a simple scarf. There will be a Beginner’s Knitting Class on October 29th and November 5th, from 5 to 7PM. You must attend both sessions. Patrons are required to be BML patron in good standing, must bring knitting needles and a skein of yarn. Due to limited space in this class, please call 242-6322 ext. 2 to register.

Beginning Genealogy: Interested in researching your family history but don’t know how to begin? Linda Clark will show you the basics of Genealogy and talk about some of the sources of information available in the library’s Genealogy Department.

Become a Citizen Scientist: Laurie George of the U of I Extension Service will present a program on becoming a Citizen Scientist. Citizen Science projects are collaborations between public volunteers and scientists, where volunteers want to help make a difference both locally and nationally. Anyone can be a citizen scientist! Volunteers participate by collecting data, recording field observations, and solving puzzles using the power of the internet.

New Year's Eve Gaming for Adults: Looking for a fun, inexpensive, way to celebrate the New Year’s. Join us at the C.E. Brehm Memorial Public Library as we play board games, card games, role-playing games and miniatures games. No alcohol allowed. Snacks and soft drinks will be provided. No children.
